‘Twas the day after Christmas, when all through the Substation,
Not a creative was stirring, all away on vacation,
The Christmas album hangs here for a peer,
So we can reflect on what has been a massive past year.
As well as containing the most fortuitous of dates, the month that gave us 11-11-11 also saw great things happening for Josephmark.
In between October's obligatory pumpkin-carving and apple bobbing, we've been combining old tricks with new treats here at the Sub.
Well, it seems we've escaped the winter relatively unharmed. As daylight increases and our vitamin D levels get a welcome boost, work in the Sub is flourishing in a suitably spring-like fashion.
More thrilling than Sideshow Alley and bigger than Augustus Gloop; this month we've battled the flu, beefed up our task list like it was some pavilion, and felt like delirious Laughing Clowns because we can’t fathom how fast time has flown.
Here at Josephmark we've been feeling all a-fluster of late, with Christmas in July bringing a touch of oddly festive cheer to the Sub.
If braving the elements is character building, then this winter looks set to make whole new people of us all. A month of fond farewells and new arrivals has also shiveringly boasted Brisbane's coldest June day on record – meaning we're rugging up warm and racking up the hot drinks as we try to keep the feeling in our toes. Here's what else we've been doing to keep the cold at bay...
As this year's Sorry Day again gives us cause to stop and think, May finds us in a united state of mind here at the Sub. Whether it's within the JM family, across our Brisbane brethren or throughout this beautiful land, there's never been a better time to get happy about what brings us together.
We've been busy bees over the last month (can we even call it that?) Despite public holidays galore, it hasn't stopped swarming productivity. We're making honey with our clients, sweeter than your Easter chocolate. Here's a small taste...
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To look through ours this month is to see hope in the face of adversity from the devastation in Japan. It's to see the new life that our beloved Helen has brought into this world...
February. The shortest, hottest, most jam-packed of months. For our dear Substation it was a month of heart-warming activity, with exhibitions, baby showers, engagement stories and good times by the dozen.
As January brought shocking floods to Brisbane, we found ourselves starting the year by counting our blessings. Food. Power. Our homes.
Ahh, Christmas. The deliciously decadent season that lets us sit back, put our feet up and take stock of the year gone by.
As we approach the time of year that puts extra pressure on our wallets, our waistlines and the welfare of our livers, we know we should be taking preventative measures.
As the formidable Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion fades – only style remains the same." Having spent recent months working on a Josephmark rebrand fit to stand the test of time, we're thinking the grande dame of fashion had a point.
Now the dust's settled on the leadership race that started as a sprint and ended as a lackadaisical dawdle, party politics have taken on a whole new meaning.
Since the first magpie swoop of the season sent our English contingent off to rock back and forth til the memory fades, it doesn't seem too presumptuous to herald the onset of spring.
Shh. Listen closely. If the wind's blowing in the right direction, and you're verrry quiet, you might just hear the call of the wild.
As June rolls into July and staying warm becomes the order of the day, we day, we find our minds and bodies are firmly set to cosy mode.
The cooler days and cooler nights of autumn find us in a reflective mood here at the Substation.
It could be World Cup fever. It could be the Easter chocolate. Or it could just be the drop in humidity...
As Hollywood held its annual celebration of the good, the bad and the barbarically-botoxed, Josephmark took a timely trip through Tinseltown's back catalogue...
Frogs. Beaches. Wolves. It's been a month of getting back to nature for the hunter-gatherers at the Sub.
We've been chasing glory and saving the world. Oh, and cringing at nationalist body art...
